Julia is a professional session guitarist based in London, UK.

Raised in a family of professional musicians, Julia received intense classical training in flute, violin, piano, singing, and theory from as young as 3 years old, but it wasn’t until she was 12 years old that she discovered her true calling, electric guitar. Dedicating herself to learning the instrument ever since, and with over 15 years of experience, she has performed professionally in a diverse range of environments - from Funk, Soul and Motown groups, Big Bands, Jazz trios and quartets, to Pop, Blues, Hard Rock and Death Metal bands - earning a reputation for her versatility and virtuosity both on stage and in the studio. She is also a strong sight-reader and this rare skill among guitarists has offered her many opportunities working with composers and arrangers, and even orchestras and chamber music groups.

 

Despite her thorough classical musical education, Julia is a self-taught guitarist and has worked tirelessly to express her own sound through the instrument, while always approaching every performance with authenticity and respect. Along side her session work, she also takes commissions for sheet music transcriptions by ear, teaches guitar and theory lessons both in person and online, and enjoys writing music and lyrics for her own passion-project, Sacred Agony, an Oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire based Death Metal/Deathcore group currently working on their debut LP.
